Allen and Jill Kirkham are husband and wife National and International Award winning Traditional Western Music performing artists from Custer, South Dakota. They feature singer-song writer Allen Kirkham on vocals, yodels, guitar and mandolin, and Jill Kirkham on vocals, story teller, bass, and harmonica. Allen and Jill were Inducted into the Legends of Dakota Country Music Hall Of Fame on April 28th, 2019! They are South Dakota Humanities Scholars performing a musical presentation of "A History Of Traditional Western Music" at Western Heritage Centers, Museums, Historical Societies, National Parks, State Parks and visitors centers throughout South Dakota. Allen and Jill are 2018 and 2019 Rural Roots Music Commission Award Winners for Traditional Western CDs of the Year, 2015 Cowboy Idol Winners, 2016 Academy of Western Artists (AWA) Western Music Group of the Year Finalists, and 2015 and 2016 International Western Music Association (IWMA) Award Finalists.
Allen and Jill are the featured western artists at the Diamond Tours Dinner Show 2020 in Rapid City, SD. They have performed as professional western musicians in stage shows and chuckwagon dinner shows throughout the Black Hills, and throughout the American West since moving from Colorado in 2013.
Their "Allen and Jill Cowboy Classics" CD was released to Western Music Radio DJs on May 1st 2019 and was awarded the "Traditional Western CD of the Year" by the Rural Roots Music Commission - National Traditional Country Music Association. In addition, their "Sunrise On The Prairie" CD was released to Western Music Radio in January 2018, and was awarded the "Original Western CD of The Year 2018" by the Rural Roots Music Commission - National Traditional Country Music Association! On the Western Way Magazine Top 30 Western-Cowboy CD Charts for January - March 2018 it debuted at #4 and stayed in the Top 30 for 18 months! Allen's original title song "Sunrise On The Prairie" debuted at #1 played on radio by Western Music DJs worldwide!
Allen is the Worship Pastor at Crossroads Church, Custer. He is retired US Air Force and US Army with 34 years of military service. Jill is a professional artist , photographer, and retired High School teacher and golf coach. Allen and Jill are both members of the South Dakota US Marshals Mounted Posse.
